We have outstanding track records of plant construction both in Japan and overseas
for various fields including petrochemicals and basic chemicals,
pharmaceuticals and pesticides, information and electronic chemicals
such as semiconductor materials, and high-function chemicals
for automotive and aircraft applications, etc.

SCEC provides the best solutions throughout the plant life cycle,
from planning, basic engineering, detail engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning,
and maintenance such as modification work.

SCEC contributes to a sustainable society such as carbon neutrality
through plant engineering while giving top priority to safety and compliance.

Safety Initiatives


Company Policy

We recognize that safety is the foundation of management and is of utmost importance in the development of our business activities, we will make company-wide efforts to ensure safety based on the basic principle of "safety takes precedence over everything else" and the company-wide slogan "Zero accident, zero occupational injury" every year as our basic policy.


Safety Education Programs

In employee training, we improve knowledge and skills in health and safety, and develop promoters of legal compliance and accident prevention.


Engineering

We promote intrinsic safety design in plant design.


Safety Experiential Education

This education helps people to recognize the fear of disasters and promote their sensitivity to danger through simulation.

Risk Assessments

Our risk assessment (RA) and safety check reduce hazards and ensure safety construction work. Our risk activities include risk reduction measures obtained through RA, hazard prediction (KY) activities, near-miss activities, and 5S activities are used to ensure work safety.


Disaster Case Study

Sumitomo Chemical Group safety and health information is shared to enhance knowledge and sensitivity to hazards, with the aim of achieving zero occupational accidents.

In order to prevent occupational accidents and injuries, regular safety and health patrols are conducted at each site to ensure a safe and comfortable workplace, and regular safety patrols by the HSE Group ensure that each site is managed at the same level of safety and health.

Company-wide safety and health meeting

We have established safety and health management regulations and a safety and health committee to promote the improvement of a comfortable work environment to ensure the safety and health of employees. Our company-wide safety and health meeting reviews the company's overall safety and health management on a regular basis (twice/year) and to continuously improve the level of safety and health management.


HSE Internal Audit

We hold annual meeting for the purpose of contributing to the establishment, maintenance, and improvement of the systems necessary to ensure the appropriateness of the HSE Group's business operations.


Safety Awards

As part of safety and health promotion activities, projects with "no accident and no occupational injury" are commended by the president in accordance with the employee commendation rules.

General Business Owner Action Plan

General Business Owner Action Plan (Law for Promotion of Women's Activities and Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children)


The following action plan will be formulated to enable all employees, both male and female, to balance work and child rearing, and to create an environment in which all employees can work comfortably, thereby enabling all employees to fully demonstrate their abilities.


1. Planning April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2025 (3 years)

Goal1:All employees to take at least 7 days of paid leave per year. [Law for the Promotion of Women's Activities].

Sumitomo Chemical Group Basic Principles for Sustainability Promotion

We promote Support for tree-planting activities will be promoted as part of efforts to conserve the global environment and biodiversity, including CO2 reduction to prevent global warming. History

September 1964 Established (capital: 300 million yen) with headquarters in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Niihama Design Office (predecessor of the current Niihama Office)
